Friends, I have immense pleasure to share the glad news regarding Maneesh A from Kerala who was the last T20 blind world cup winning Indian team. last day The Kerala government appointed him as LDC in revenue department following his performance in the world cup team. As far as I know, he is the first Indian player who gets a job considering the performance in blind cricket in India. After his inclusion in Indian team Cricket Association for the Blind in Kerala [CABK] was continuously pressing the government for this recognition. The association president Navas Nizar and General Secretary Rajanish Henry were in close touch with the government departments and their efforts became fruitful on 25th July 2012. CABK is happy for this recognition for blind cricket from the government and is looking forward to promote blind cricket so that every blind cricketer would be able to lead a dignified life as a sportsman and more as a human being. "We want to develop an environment in which every blind cricketer is paid for their efforts as a cricketer so that they can contribute fully to the came as the other sports personels among their sighted peers are doing" said general secretary Rajanish Henry. -- Jaison Bellarmine, Assistant teacher, School for the Blind Aluva, Ph: 9447067547, Off: 04846528628 Alternate email: [email protected], [email protected] Skype: Jaison.ayk Visit the website of School for the Blind Aluva, Kerala at www.kbss.org To contact: [email protected] Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/OfficialKBSS Register at the dedicated AccessIndia list for discussing accessibility of mobile phones / Tabs on: http://mail.accessindia.org.in/mailman/listinfo/mobile.accessindia_accessindia.org.in Search for old postings at: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ To unsubscribe send a message to [email protected] with the subject unsubscribe.
