Hello,
GW Connect will no longer work as Microsoft stopped supporting the
SkypeKit.  This decision from Microsoft not only effects GW Connect, but
other products that use the kit.

You will need to download native Skype from www.skype.com.
After installing Skype, make sure  you turn on accessibility mode.
Press alt-t for tools, O for options, and press end to move to the
bottom of the tree.  "accessibility, make Skype more accessible for you."
Tab once and enable accessibility mode.  Press enter to close the
options dialog.
