no its little difficult to convert your computer into a server and i think you mean web server to host a website with scripts most of the people use linux mint and dont know how accessable that is. if you want to practice scripting you can take a server on rent meaning you dont get the physical server but you get some space on it to upload script files and so on you can start with small space as you need to only host scripts and no large files then you can increase it as you go
