Let us salute our Cane on (World White Cane Day, 15 October 2014) On this occasion, * JNU Visually Challenged Forum in Collaberation with Central Library JNU * invites you to a public lecture on * Disability Rights Movement in India: Emergence, Challenges and way forward * By DR Ramesh Kumar Sarin About the Speaker: Born in 1952, Dr Ramesh Kumar Sarin Holds doctorate from JNU -- & currently teaches Political Science at (Satyavati College University of Delhi). His research interests ranges from disability activism to comperetive disability policy. His Ph.D Theses entitled: "changing policies for the visually impaired: A Comparative Study of South Africa and India" was published by Academic excellence Press in 2009. His name was featured in the Limka Book of Records for creating World Record in Braille Writing in 1991. He undertook arduous journey on foot of 7344 kilometers over 12 Indian States to spread awareness about the importance of education in the lives of the blind people. * Date & Timing: Wednesday, 15 October 2014 3 pm * Venue: Committee Room Central Library JNU Later in the evening, We would be holding White Cane Day March at (9:30 pm from Ganga Dhaba to the Add block.
