*International White cane Day* *15th October, 2014. *White Cane day is an international awareness event to celebrate the importance of the long cane which is celebrated on October 15 every year. This white cane is a mobility tool and it is in practice since 1921. By using this White Cane by the blind or the visually impaired is an important symbol of tool of independence. The US president has added and named this day as Blind Equality day.
Mitra Jyothi is a trust working for the disabled for the last 24 years under the guidance of Ms Madhu Singhal our Managing Trustee who is also visually impaired since birth. On her instance Mitra Jyothi took up the cleaning exercise of its own premises and its surroundings.
