Hi All, I have been in touch with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of capital market in the matter of difficulties faced by people with blindness for opening of trading account.
While no stock-broker denies us on the ground of thumb impression or disability in writing, but definitely there is a huge challenge of convincing them in getting the account opened especially with online trading rights. If you are one of those who have faced any difficulty due to disability, and if you are willing to join at least for the purposes of providing details whenever requested by SEBI, then please drop me an e-mail with the following details: 1. Name of the Applicant. 2. PAN of the Applicant. 3. Name of the stock-brokers with whom you have faced issues. (it is not necessary that you hold account with them at the moment) 4. Specific issues which you have faced. 5. Steps taken by you to solve them. 6. Your contact number and the convenient time to call. I cannot take your details into account beyond Sunday 21st December, 2014. Request you to circulate this e-mail as widely as possible. Look forward for your responses. Regards, -- Amar Jain.
