Hi All: Srinagar, Dec 21: Director Social Welfare (DSW) department Kashmir Gazanfar Ali on Sunday said the government was committed to help the persons with disabilities. The Director was speaking during a meeting to discuss various issues pertaining to persons with disabilities. The meeting was attended by state nodal officer for persons with disabilities, Aamir Ali; deputy director Social Welfare, Tabasum Kamili; district social welfare officers of Srinagar, Budgam, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kupwara and Baramulla. On the occasion, the participants stressed to improve the quality of life of disabled persons. The non-official participants suggested setting up of an Advisory Board for disabled. They demanded that all public buildings should be made disabled-friendly and measures taken for having reserved seats in public transport for handicapped persons.
