Not something like that. Exactly that. If you rename the file with the
extension given by Bhavya Shah, the file will surely be installed. It's my
experience that, if you upload the files with .nvda-addon, it reaches the
recipient with the extension .zip. I don't know why and how. But it so
happens. So, the only solution is to rename it with the extension
.nvda-addon. Thereafter, it works properly. There is no problem then.

There is something you need to do about renaming the file format of
the downloaded add-on files from zip to .nvda-addon or something like
that.
I am unaware of the exact details, but just one piece of information,
if you were unaware about it.
There is an official NVDA Add-ons site at addons.nvda-project.org
where all add-ons can be readily used after download, are stable,
reviewed and approved by the official NVDA add-ons community. There
may be security risks in downloading add-ons from third party sources,
therefore it is recommended to download add-ons only from trusted
sources (like the NVDA Add-ons website).
