Dear Preeti,

I am happy to explain more about book rights and why some books are not
available in all countries. However, I must first make it very clear to you and
everyone that Bookshare books may never be shared, even among Bookshare
members. When you joined Bookshare, you agreed to the terms of service, which
include only downloading books for your own personal use. If you share books,
you violate your agreement and risk having your account shut down.

There are two reasons that some books are not available:

When books come from publishers, the publishers have given permission for us to
share the books in specific countries. Publishers frequently buy and sell book
distribution rights from/to each other. If they don't have the right to
distribute the book in a particular country, they can't give us permission to
share it either.

If books are scanned under the American copyright law, they are only available
to members in the US.

If there is a book you want that is not available to you, it can be added to
Bookshare under the Indian Copyright Law. (In that case, it would only be able
to people in India.) Please send a message to [email protected].

Best,
Kristina Pappas

Recently , I became a member of bookshare. I searched for some Indian
fiction books . some of the books I wanted to read are available.

, but to my surprise I cannot download them . these are restricted for
Indian residents. This rule seems unfair.

Is there anybody on the forum who lives abroad and can download the eboks
for me

I will be very. grateful if somebody could help me

Regards

Preeti
