Admission to various undergraduate and post graduate courses for the year 2015-2016 at Savitribai Phule Pune university (former university of Pune) will be opening soon. We have around 55 schools and departments of arts and fine arts, social sciences, law, commerce and management, science and technology with international reputes. We have strong disability support service for almost all degree programs on the campus. Blind Student's Learning Centre is the support service centre for all the students with disabilities of 55 schools and departments of the university campus and its 750 affiliated colleges that provides educational support services to students with special need. The centre is situated in the ospicious campus of the university spread over 400 acher in the central part of the city. The centre provides educational and career guidance and counseling to students with disabilities. It also provide facilities like accessible computer lab with necessary assistive technologies with full internet connectivity, audio and digital library, assistive devices to needy students etc. the centre also have graphic Braille embossing facility. We facilitate students with disabilities for admission, learning, examination, campus ocommodation and recreation. Students would have opportunity to learn basic computing along with their regular digree program to which they are enrolled. We run a Certificate cource in basic computing and assistive technology learning (CBCATL)of six month duration for our PG students to make them independent in academics and profession. . While learning students have opportunity to earn RS 2500 per month in earn and learn scheme. We gives preference in courses and hostel admission as per government norms. Hostel fee on the campus is only RS 3000 per year. Admission fees is also nominal as all the PG schools are government and government aided. This year onwards we are planning to provide netbook or tab to needy students along with plextop which are already being provided. We also help our PG students for placement in government and corporate organizations through placement cell for persons with disabilities.
