Interesting query. Would be keen to hear experiences. As far as I know, in Delhi, the procedure includes filling up an application form which has to be submitted with affidavit & medical certificate by a doctor seeking following information:
Affidavit - about date of birth, educational qualification, annual income, statement that you are medically fit to handle weapon, Skills to handle weapon, nominee details, history of any criminal case or other legal cases if any, availability of suitable arrangements for keeping the fire arms in safe custody and to avoid access of children to the weapons and why do you need the weapon. Medical Certificate has - height, weight, age, eyesight, BP and deformity- particularly in hands and a general statement that the applicant is in good mental & physical health and is free from any physical deformity. I see as per this procedure, the persons with blindness get stuck at two places - the medical certificate where eye sight is asked and the certificate from doctor "free from any physical deformity". The form otherwise doesn't seek information about blindness except that you have skills to handle the weapon. Any experiences? On 1 May 2015 at 13:19, P.
