Following Sarabham, actor Salony Luthra took up an interesting film
that has a twin objective. “Oliyum Oliyum is about two visually
challenged characters who do not let their disability become a
hindrance to their lives. In fact, the character I play is that of an
independent girl who sells knick-knacks on the roadside. I spent a lot
of time actually doing it on the street to get into the skin of the
character. Although Oliyum Oliyum is conceived as a full-length
feature, we have currently completed a short version of it and plan to
release it as a promotional vehicle for eye donation. Simultaneously,
work will go on to complete the feature film too. The project is the
brain child of Arul Vincent, DOP, and Marks, the film’s director. It
features John, an actor from London, as my pair, who also plays a
visually challenged character,” says Salony.
