Friends, On 6th June 2012, a Truly Accessible Talking ATM which is well accepted by persons with blindness as an ATM machine allowing independent cash withdrawal with audible instructions was inaugurated at Blind People’s Association, Ahmedabad, Gujarat by Union Bank of India.

Union Bank of India has installed total 1700+ Talking ATM as on 31st March 2015. On October 4, 2012 State Bank of India, India's largest Public Sector Bank, launched its first Real Talking ATM in New Delhi. State Bank has done large scale deployment of Talking ATMs in India till date. State Bank inaugurated its 5555th Talking ATM on 1st July 2014. However complete list of 5500+ talking ATMs is still awaited. SBI has published 3000 locations at present on their site. Bank of Baroda has also introduced talking ATMs for visually impaired persons in the year 2013 and has 150+ talking ATMs. Corporation Bank deployed Talking ATM for the blind in early 2014. Citibank has 100+ talking ATMs. Standard Chartered Bank has installed 34 and HSBC has 28 talking ATMs as per info available on banks website or replies received. Talking ATM is one such great achievement and an excellent example of technological solutions for persons with blindness as they can withdraw cash independently with security and privacy. Talking ATM is proving a great asset and a banking enabler for blind people.
