Not sure how you are handling your Error Messages in
in your Access program but the answer to your question
is yes.

However you'll have to put the problematic section(s)
in error handling code segments in order to do so.

Not having the time to look up the specific error as
well as not knowing from whence inside your Access
program the error is coming from I cannot be of much
more assistance than this. But seeing as you have a
rather large Access app and a VB app then I doubt
you'll be able to work it out.  If you get stuck try
looking that specific error code up on the Microsoft
Website and or google it... I have generally been able
to answer most of my questions like this by doing just
that.

And good luck and remember perseverance does pay off.
