Dear Richard,
U can put number in a field but make and event by clicking,double clicking or 
gotfocus or u can use a dialog box to input what u want or ur search and put a 
grid were u can retrieve the data with enabled properties to edit delete add 
new rec whatever and make cotrol box to click to save ur new data. U can do it 
just be patient.
