And if that is not quite what you want then you can
extract date parts using the various Date Functions.

intMonth = Month(date) 
   returns the month (1 to 12) as an integer
intDay = Day(date) 
   returns the day of the week as an integer
intYear = Year(date)
   returns the year part as an integer
