I am trying to use an Excel file as a template for an Access report.
Linked
the excel file through OLE frame with the properties set as follows:

Source Doc : C:\sajit\test.xls
Source Item : test1

where test1 is the Excel range name in which the template is. This is
what the Access help says for Excel OLE to enter in the property
sheet for property Source item.
I also have other sheets on the same Excel file, which have range
names defined on them for templates of other reports.

The Excel templates were made by making a 'Copy' 'Sheet' from the
previous sheet, each
sheet contains one template range.

When I preview the report, Access picks the wrong template, even
though the
filename and the range name specified in properties are correct.

I notice that Access picks the Excel sheet with which I closed the
Excel file.

I also tried to put 2 ranges on a single sheet. It still is not able
to pick the range defined to identify which cells of the Excel sheet
are to be displayed by the Access OLE report.

Seems to me a bug in how the Access report does not read the 'Source
Item' property at all.

The help says that this property can entered from VB or the property
window.

Can someone please help me with this.

Thanks,
