Helpful keyboard shortcuts to quickly move around in Access (2002/2003/2007) While in Access, you may find yourself constantly switching between the different sheets in the Database window or between your open object windows. Luckily if you don't mind using the keyboard instead of a mouse, you can speed things up using shortcut keys. 1. To cycle through the database window's sheets, press [Ctrl][Tab] to move forward and [Ctrl][Shift][Tab] to move backward. 2. To cycle through open object windows, first press [Alt][Tab] to open a selection box. Then, while continuing to hold down the [Alt] key, press [Tab] to highlight your desired window icon and release the [Alt] key to view it.
Keep in mind that this second tip is a Windows feature, so any other open windows on your desktop will also show up in the selection box. Of course, in Access 2007, you won't need these shortcuts. The Navigation pane takes the place of the Database window and, by default, the Object pane displays open objects in a tabbed format. Of course, if you really miss having a bunch of floating open windows, click the Customize Quick Access Toolbar button, select More Commands | Current Database, and under the Document Windows Options section, select Overlapping Windows. You'll have to close and re-open your Access 2007 database for this change to take effect.
