Monas:

You need to create a link as I originally outlined. Not an import, a link.
Then you can use the data in a form.

  thank you Mr. Richard
You've help me much so far....
I have tried "the trick" but, here is my real problem...
i have a lot of data , the machine's data in my office, and it have been
written in XLS format since 2004
all the data !! that mean that is not effective to change all of the data
to access ( access tabel ) so that i can call the data from its own tables
i wonder if i can make an access form that can call the data direct from
the xls file
no need to change to mdb....
yesterday i tried to make a form, an access form, and tried to call the
data from the table ( access table )
  i made it ( happy me )...
but when i am faced to the xls table ..... i got confused... how???
i can not find the answer
please help me to solve it.....

  here is the simplest data
i have a table ( xls table )with two coloumn
1 coloumn called as Height the the other called Volume
all i want is when i write the height value ( primary key ) in my access
form, automatically in Volume text box show the value ....
is it possible to do ??
  Please help me
  Thanks before
  best regard

  Heru

XLS is easy to do. Just use a Link or an Import. In Access 2000 and 2003
Link is under Tools menu, Database Utilities sub menu
