Subject: Look for certain seldom words in Journals and in Newspapers
Hallo ACCMailers,
I would like to look for certain seldom words in Journals and in Newspapers.
English as well as German ones. I mean a full text search. Where can I do it?
If I take for example the newsletter New York Times. Can I receive it for a
certain day in full text in one step? And for a longer time (a month, a year)?
TIA

Contrary to what the FAQ says, if you want to make the long
distance phone call to the US from China, you can use Juno (if you
can get the software).
The software is blocked from downloads overseas but there are
copies on the net, if you know where to look. Don't ask me to help.
Most people are not going to be willing to call long distance to use
a 'free' email service.
IMO, what the FAQ does not address is the limitation on setting up
the service. In order to use Juno, one has to dial an 800 (tollfree)
number in USA. One can not do this from overseas. The work-
around for this is to have an associate in USA establish your
account. Then you import that user into your Juno setup. Then
you can use Juno from anywhere you can use your computer.
Confused?
Now you know why Juno can not be used overseas. :)

Subject: 451 qqt failure - what is it?
Hello ...
I have been trying to set up free email for some
friends using Free-Online UK. Like the other free
ISP's in the UK, it is very erratic.
This week all the email we tried to send resulted
in this curious message ...
Delivery has failed on the enclosed message for the following
reasons reported either by the mail delivery system on the mail
relay host or by the local TCP/IP transport module:
451 qqt failure (#4.3.0)
Does anyone know what this means?
What is a 451 qqt?
Can we do anything about it?

Is there a service that lets you enter part of a Domain
and gives a list of probable Domain URLs.

Subject: Digital signatures
Dear accmailers,
Is there a way (using email) to obtain a digital signature to sign an email. Under
outlook
express there is a 'get digital signature' button which calls up a microsoft web page.
This is
a framed site and I cannot get the page using email techniques. Are there any
alternative sites
or alternative means of retrieval?
Thanks,

Dear Sen:
There is at least one service that gives the sort of information you're
asking for - *if* the Internet domain is one registered by Internic, the
central registry for the United States.
The service is available by simply using the AltaVista search engine.
You can use the following technique either by using a Web browser or by
searching AltaVista through strictly e-mail techniques.
Basically, what is done is to submit the domain request as a *simple*
query at the AltaVista search engine.
For example, let us say you wanted to know all the servers that were
associated with the Internet domain oakland.edu
The search string would be: host:oakland.edu
AltaVista would then return you a list of the associated servers.
It's actually that simple.
Good luck to you.
Sincerely,

I missed them on ACCMAIL Digest - 17 Jan 1999 to 18 Jan 1999 (#1999-19).
I also noted that they were broken in an earlier digest.
Were they removed or not? If they were removed, then I need to subscribe
to them.
I can see the point of view of those that want them dropped, but I do use
them, at times. So, IF they are gone, then I need to subscribe to them
directly.
