I think it is WWW.netzero.com (it may be a .net)

It requires W9x, and shows adds (selected based on what page you are
viewing) in a movable window. It appears to be the internet service used
by the "free PC" giveaway.

This depends on what version of juno you are using:

For versions 1.xx, save them all to one folder, then export the folder.

For juno 2.xx, the above will not work. (binary data in the folders)
so:

Create a directory (windows folder, not juno folder) and save all of the
messages as text files in there (one at a time, or try highlighting them
all then File;saVe message as text file...)

This being a JUNO question, you may want to also try the Juno_Accmail
mailing list, run on [EMAIL PROTECTED]

You can't do this using Eudora. When I gave my original answer I
omitted the "?body=text " because that doesn't work with all E-mail
programs. The "mailto" and "?subject=" appear to work with just about
every E-mail program...

.ASM is assembly language source code, about as clost to the hardware as
you can get short of binary code. All "higher level" languages (C[++]
Pascal, Fortran, COBOL, ...) can in theory be converted to ASeMbly, but
the other way is not practical.

ASeMbly is needed for a number of reasons, most commonly for SPEED: No
matter how effecient, the code can not be made faster than it can be made
in assembly.

Subject: How to filling forms using agora or www4mail

Anyone can give me idea how to fill forms using agora or www4mail, since
the result is always error (sometimes it is incomplete, and sometimes the
result is not like what I want).
Usually when w3mail was alive, I use this syntax :
http://www.some.domain/cgi-bin/file.pl?row1=abc&row2=def and so on, but now
by using the same syntax, both agora and www4mail will be resulted like row
2 or maybe sometimes row 3 be gone.

Of course because some of the rows can't be filled correctly using www4mail
or agora, the form can;t be completed.

Is this has connection with get and post command, since the syntax I use is
a get command, and the server is using post command.
But I think both get command and post command are the same, since I did
fill the form using [EMAIL PROTECTED] when it alived.

BTW is there anyone know what is the price of w3mail license ?

Thank you very much.

I suspect you would use the usual % notation to do this, BUT:
I looked all over the W3C site for this info, including RFCs
1738, 1808 and 1630, and they all claim that the only valid
parameter for mailto: is an RFC822 address, and they warn about
the use of % in RFC822 addresses. They don't say what should
be done to cope with % characters cleanly, however.

So I suspect this format you have described is a brwoser-specific
extension....

I would be interested in more cocrete evidence on this though,
because if those browsing directly can see what the email methods
produce with just a mouse click, then they may be more
considerate to e-mail users.

        Subject: Acrobat Reader ?

        Dear everybody,

I have some files in .pdf format. To view them, I must have Acrobat
Reader set
        up in the computer.
I know It's a freeware which can be downloaded from adobe's website
at
        http://www.adobe.com
Unfortunately, I do not have any Internet account to get it
directly.

So, Would you tell me the exact path to this software in this
website so that I
can get it indirectly via email ?

        Thanks in advance
        Nam Trung

Well, I admit I -could- just tell you the exact path to the file in
question, but I'm bored today so I'll tell you the exact process I used to
-determine- the exact path to the file in question. Hopefully this
information will be of use to you and other people on the list.

First thing I tried in this situation is to determine if they have an ftp
site with the file in question (I find that browsing for files via email is
easier with ftp than with www -- the WWW page requires to you to fill out
name and/or email address on a form before you can download.)

Using [EMAIL PROTECTED], my personal favourite, I attempted to
connect to 'ftp.adobe.com' with the user anonymous (a number of web sites
have corresponding ftp sites, but not all. Try replacing the 'www' in the
URL with 'ftp' and connect with user anonymous.) I then performed a dir on
the root directory, a cd to the 'pub' directory (a standard directory on
most if not all ftp servers for storing public files) and another dir.
----------
     TO: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
SUBJECT: <blank>
   BODY: ftp ftp.adobe.com
         user anonymous
         dir
         cd pub
         dir
         quit
----------
After the response to this query came, I perused it and located the
directory /pub/adobe I sent off another query
----------
     TO: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
SUBJECT: <blank>
   BODY: ftp ftp.adobe.com
         user anonymous
         cd pub/adobe
         dir
         quit
----------
This again revealed a directory, this time /pub/adobe/acrobatreader.
Performing another query on this would reveal a directory structure of
platforms (win, os2, dos, mac, and unix appear to be supported) For the
sake of argument I'll assume the platform in question is Windows-based, so I
run a query on the directory pub/adobe/acrobatreader/win If not, just
substitute whichever platform applies.

The query then reveals a directory structure of versions available (2.x, 3.x
and 4.x). For the sake of argument I'll assume you're searching for the
most recent version, and run a query on pub/adobe/acrobatreader/win/4.x

Hmm.. Fascinating. The appears that the 4.x release is still in the beta
stages, if the '.../win/4.x/beta' directory is any clue. Querying that
directory finally reveals the files we're searching for, namely 'ar40.zip'
There's also a corresponding 'ar40.txt' which I'd recommend grabbing as well
since it gives information on system requirements, installation
instructions, etc. The .zip file itself is just under 5 megs.
----------
     TO: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
SUBJECT: <blank>
   BODY: ftp ftp.adobe.com
         user anonymous
         cd pub/adobe/acrobatreader/win/4.x/beta
         get ar40.txt
         binary
         get ar40.zip
         quit
----------
All examples are the ones I'd use with the [EMAIL PROTECTED]
service, and should work with any bitftp server. If you use a different
ftp-email service, then be sure to use the appropriate commands. Use the
service's help files for more info if you're not familiar with the proper
structure.

Some ftp-email services might not allow downloading of the file due to
it's size, although I'm not sure (I usually only download text files and
images, which don't even approach the 5-meg mark.) I recall hearing that
gopher-email services have the ability to download larger files, but have
never done so due to lack of need. Also, if your mailbox has a limit of 5
megs or less, you might have to retrieve the file in parts, which again I've
never done due to lack of need. Appropriate links to necessary resources
should be available in the FAQ, I assume, or perhaps some other friendly
user on the list will post if the need arises. ^_^

So, in answer to the initial question asking for the exact path for the
Acrobat Reader, it would be /pub/adobe/acrobatreader/win/4.x/beta/ar40.zip
on ftp.adobe.com However, if you're not running Windows, want a more
reliable non-beta version, or have a system that doesn't meet the
requirements for the most recent release, then you'd have to locate the
exact path and file yourself.

I hope this has been of assistance. I must now stop typing, because I've
lost all feeling in my fingers.

Yes. The WIN '95/98 version exists.
Anyway, I don't know where can you find it on Internet.

I guess what you need is a free POP3 account anywhere on Internet.
I am using a free e-mail account like "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" from
http://www.netaddress.com .
It doesn't work pretty good for downloading mail directly from there,
but it forwards properly every e-mail to my ISP's account, and it's
perfect for my needs.

Or you may try at: http://www.softhome.net which works almost perfectly.
I've also been told about some others:

See you:

* The name of the mailing list is Help-Net (with an hyphen).
* The "LOG OWN 195,990...." is information about the file and not part of
the filename. The name of the file is: "Help-Net Log9902D"
* in order to get this file you should send the following command in the
BODY of your message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] :

  GET HELP-NET LOG9902D

Notice that the command is GET and not GETPOST.

GETPOST is used for getting specific posts if you know their numbers.

You may use the "Search" command to search for specific posts which meat
some criteria:
e.g. the command:
SEARCH HELP-NET virus

will locate posts to Help-Net which contain the word "virus".

A more complicated search can be done in the following format:
SEARCH keyword IN HELP-NET WITH SUBJECT CONTAINS another_keyword

which will locate messages with those keywords in the body and subject.
another example:
SEARCH VIRUS IN HELP-NET WITH SENDER CONTAINS UZIPAZ

will locate messages that I posted to Help-Net with the word virus in the
body of those messages.
The result of each search is a list of postings which match the criteria,
and each post has a number. You may then use
GETPOST number another_number etc.

with the numbers of the wanted messages seperated by blanks.

> I must add that yesterday I received a singel mail from helpnet, (I get
> digests) with foolish contents. I forwarded it to list and asked about ;
> but today I didn't it on list.

Yes, your message has been rejected by LISTSERV.
When you post a message to Help-Net (or most of the other LISTSERV lists)
don't quote a line with a "Reply-To:" header pointing to that list.

LISTSERV adopts many methods to prevent loops. whenever a message posted
to HELP-NET is bounced from one of the subscribers, with an error
message, if the server that posts the error message deal with it
correctly, it should not bounce the message back to Help-Net, but some
improperly configured servers post the error message to the address in the
"Reply-To:" field, which may cause it to be posted to the mailing list.
If there were no deffenses, the mailing lists manager will distribute the
message as if it was a legitimate message posted to the list, and then,
that copy will be distributed again to the faulty address, and will
generate another error message to the list... and so on.

In order to avoid such cases, LISTSERV has adopted many filters to
identify and filter out error messages, and since many bounces include the
full original message quoted, they filter out messages which contain
any of the following fields: "From:", "Reply-To:", "Sender:" which point
to the same list.

If you wish to know why did you get the strange message ask me in private.
I think that I know why you got it.

By the way, I am the list owner of Help-Net.

Uzi

I can not answer all of your questions, but if the message is truncated
after that begin line, like the digest likely was for same readers, then
your mail client attempted to decode the parts for you. You need to find
out what it did with them.

If you are on compuserv, then why can't you just FTP it directly?

On my computer (running Linux) I can convert .ps-files to
.pcx/.tiff/.bmp files by using the following command :

gs -dNOPAUSE -sDEVICE=pcx256 -sOutputFile=foto.pcx foto.ps -c quit

Type gs -h to find out the fileformats that are supported. (or RTFM;-)

I can also convert .ps to .gif by making use of the program 'display'
that is part of the imagemagick-package. (Also a Linux-program)

Hi!

Try NetAddress at http://www.netaddress.usa.net or HotMail Express. I have
used the NetAddress email service for POP downloads using both Eudora Pro
and OutLook Express without difficulty. All instructions are available when
you register. It is a free web email service (so far!)
I have heard that you can do the same thing with HotMail Express but I
haven't tried it.
I am sure there are many other such free email services which permit POP
downloads with your email client.

Hope this helps!

Subject: XIMAGE Option

Dear,
The www4mail ximage option will not send you any images directly. This is
because some images in a page may just be there to separate portions of
the page e.g an image named line.gif could produce a short line.

It will only allow links (Selection points) for images to
appear in a web page sent to you. This way you can select all the images
that you are interested in.

www4mail will try to label these links by the names of the images or
suggested text from the WEB server. This way you can click or request for
image1.gif or myphoto.gif and not line.gif (which was just used to
rule the page).

Note XIMAGE will appear not work if the page does not contain any images
or the WEB server determines that we are a text mode browser and does not
send us a page with images.

Thanks

Hello,

I've tried several days to download something from ftp.simtel.net through

latter". I tried and retried but no success.
Does anybody knows smoething about this server ?

Thanks,
