Subject: Filling forms
Hello, people.
I'm email-only user, and I need to fill a web form... I used getweb server,
but -as far as I can see- they are dying... I can get the HTML source using
www4, but I don't know how to fill the forms manually... Is there any
program that can do that for me? (or any doc that can teach me how to do
it?)
Any help will be appreciated...
Thanks for your time.

Subject: Assessing SoftHome pop account via regular mail
Hi!
Since www.SoftHome.net seems to be the only real free (no adds) pop provider
in the world, I would like to ask....
How can I read my SoftHome pop account through my existing mail account
(on my work)?

Subject: www4mail- making attachments go in-message
Hello,
I would prefer to use getweb for this but [EMAIL PROTECTED] seems to
be enforcing their low usage limits.
So, does anyone know a clever way around www4mail insisting on sending
attachments when you only want part of a page? I know the FAQ says you can't
make parts of a page go in the message body. But perhaps there is a kindly
old mailserver out there that can reformat the attachment and remove the
graphics?
regards,
Peter Midler

Send for http://www.tab.co.nz/top.html and
http://www.tab.co.nz/bottom.html which will require you to get 12 more
framed sources. Best bet, forget this site as it is made of too many
frames and clickable image maps.
Or find somebody with full web access so they can do the work for you...
In my howto1 document I provided some tips and how to deal with framed
web pages.

Subject: World news in your email
Hello,
Is there a service to get the latest news as soon as the news agencies
"type" them directly in your email?
Maybe there's some web service like this that we may conveniently convert
into an email one.
Thanks a lot for your help

Nope. Most of the news services provide a daily news summary depending
upon your selections. You get it just once a day unless there is some
special bulletin issued.

Reuters, the world's leading financial and online new service has a web
page at:
http://www.reuters.com/
They provide information to newspapers, TV, and other sources
world-wide. They also provide the news to search engines like Yahoo,
Lycos, InfoSeek and CNET.

No programs do it for you. No documents (yet) either. However, I will
show you how to do it for yourself which is what I have been doing.
Let's say you would like to use the Inference find search engine to
search the web. Here is what I have done.
To: www4mail server
Subject: [leave blank]
Body of message:
http://www.infind.com/
www4mail returns the search engine page as an attachment to Eudora called:
FIND_COM.HTM
In this web page attachment, I take the line
<FORM METHOD = POST ENCTYPE = "text/plain" ACTION
="mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]">
and change the mailto: reference to myself as follows.
mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
If I now click on the attachment link in Eudora, Netscape (or MS IE)
starts this web page in my broswer. I then fill out the form and click
on search. However, instead of sending the web page to a www4mail
server to search the internet, the web page is sent to me.
This is the mail I see:
XBASE=BASE HREF "http://www.infind.com/index.html"
XFORM=<form method "GET" action
"http://www.infind.com/infind/infind.exe" target "_top" name "infind">
query=
XSUBMIT_NOW=Submit Query
time=7
GETSIZE=
GETPART=
So now I have a form that I can use and reuse to search at Inference by
just filling out the search (query=) line and mailing off to any
www4mail server.
Suppose I wish to look for "spam", then the form looks like
XBASE=BASE HREF "http://www.infind.com/index.html"
XFORM=<form method "GET" action
"http://www.infind.com/infind/infind.exe" target "_top" name "infind">
query=spam
XSUBMIT_NOW=Submit Query
time=7
GETSIZE=
GETPART=
If I wish to look for "frog dissection", the form looks like
XBASE=BASE HREF "http://www.infind.com/index.html"
XFORM=<form method "GET" action
"http://www.infind.com/infind/infind.exe" target "_top" name "infind">
query=frog dissection
XSUBMIT_NOW=Submit Query
time=7
GETSIZE=
GETPART=
Notice, that with www4mail servers, the "+" sign between search terms
is not required as in the old method I used for agora servers.
If you compare this method with my old wsifind.faq you will see the
similarities between the agora methods and the ww4mail methods. I'm
working on a set of new FAQs that use www4mail methods instead of agora
methods.
Now, you may prefer to always use the browser page method intead of the
method that I'm using (that is, sending a blank page to myself that I
reuse) but I prefer it because it relates to all my old work with the
agora methods.
Simple enough?

Simple, use the Agora GET or SEND command. For instance, to get my home
page (sans graphics), do this:
To: www4mail server
Subject: [leave blank]
Body of message:
SEND http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/1236/index.html
