Hmm, new member since Monday when I sent out a translation?
Here's another one, this time from David Kramer

5. Suggestions and Comments
1. What does Downloadslave do ?
Via Downloadslave, you can download any files from the internet in a
convenient and above all cost effective way. The HTTP and FTP protocols
are supported.
When you send us a request, our server will download the files desired and
send them to you by email.
Most of you have a very fast connection to your provider's mail server, so
that you can use the bandwidth of your connection in a considerably more
effective way.
The advantages for you:
After sending off your request you can immediately go offline and save
valuable (expensive) online time.
No need to get annoyed about aborted connects and poor download rates. If
there are errors, we make several attempts to obtain the file for you and
as far as possible only send error-free files to your mailbox.
You can first collect interesting links and then order the files in one
go.
You receive a confirmation of each request by email with a status report
on any errors.
2. What do I need to do in order to use Downloadslave ?
There are two ways to use our service:
a) by email
b) with the programme "Urlrequester", which can be downloaded free from
our homepage
In both cases, you must first obtain a password. This is done by simply
sending a blank mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You will promptly receive
a personal password and can then use the service.
a) Just send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the URL of the you
wish to retrieve in the body. The subject line can be left blank.
For example, if you want to retrieve our programme Urlrequester by email,
the body of the email should look like this:
PASS:YOURPASSWD
http://www.downloadslave.com/UrlRequester.zip
FTP addresses are also no problem. Several URLs can be ordered per email.
The maximum number of URLs per request is published in the Web.
b) It is considerably simpler to use our service with the programme
mentioned above. After the download it needs only to be unpacked and
started. Before using it for the first time, your email address and
password have to be entered in the [PROPERTIES] menu.
After you have made these settings you can drag and drop any link from
your browser into the Urlrequester window. Once you have all your links
together you can click on [SENDREQUEST].
That's all! The files you want will be sent to you by email.
The programme has a 'stay on top shell' and is thus always visible in the
foreground.
3. How long will I have to wait for the files?
We will send you a mail confirming the request as soon as we receive it.
How long we need for the download depends of course to a large extent on
the size and number of the files requested, so that the time ranges from a
few minutes to several hours. However, you can find out the download
status of your request via our web page. You will probably not need all
the files immediately, so it often suffices if you receive the files
during your next online session the next day. But then with "FULL SPEED".
4 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
[Translator's note: The first question (and the answer) is only relevant
for people in Germany who have an account with German Telekom. I have
therefore left it out.]
Q: I have the Urlrequester 2.0X. When I try to send off a request, nothing
seems to get through.
A: Since version 2, requests are sent direct to downloadslave. Emails are
no longer sent (except when a password is ordered). Urlrequester needs
access via ports 1500 and 1504 in order to function. So if you should be
"sitting" behind a "firewall" (or proxy), then check whether these ports
are also being let through.
Q: I sent a request mail to downloadslave but did not receive any reply.
A: Please make sure that all request mails are sent to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Also make sure that your password is given in the
body of the message in the form:
PASS:YOURPASSWD
The best thing is to use our programme UrlRequester. If you do so, it is
very important that you enter you email address and password correctly.
Q: It works fine when I order small files, but when I order a larger file
I get either an error message or nothing at all.
A: With many online services (e.g. T-Online, AOL, Compuserve, gmx.net
etc), your mailbox may be limited to a certain size. A number of providers
also limit the size of an individual mail. We cannot send you the mail if
these limits are exceeded. Please only order files which are not too large
for your mailbox, in order to avoid unnecessary traffic.
Q: I would like to download a number of files. When is it useful to order
several files in one request?
A: The ability to order several URLs in one mail is useful if you want to
receive all the files in one reply mail (e.g. because the files are
connected to each other in some way). The reply mail will not be sent to
you until all files have been processed. It is therefore better to send
several requests for files that are not connected in any way. If the files
are relatively large (<500 Kb), then they should certainly be ordered
individually (i.e. one mail per file).
Q: What is the maximum size of a file that I can get via downloadslave?
A: Please refer to our homepage for the current maximum size
Q: I have used downloadslave successfully a few times, but now I no longer
get any response to my requests.
A: Downloadslave automatically blocks users if it detects problems in
sending mails. However, you can unblock your account yourself via
Downloadstatus [translator's note: I have no idea what this means]. Make
sure that you only order files that do not exceed your mailbox's limits.
Deactivate your autoresponder if you have one. Always write new mails for
new requests (please do not send a request by replying directly to a mail
from downloadslave, since this would be interpreted as an error in sending
a mail).
Q: I requested a relatively long URL, but downloadslave did not recognise
it correctly. It was cut of in the middle. How can I avoid this problem?
A: The surest way to request URLs is to use Urlrequester, since this
problem does not arise when you use the programme. Should you not want to
use this programme, please make sure that the automatic line wrap is set
to a sufficiently high value in your mailer software (e.g. 255). The
situation can also be remedied by changing the setting from HTML to text.

negative comments, you can send them to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hmm, seems like I have to repeat the same answers daily...
Other than MyDeja from DejaNews (which requires a web page for
subscription) email only users don't have any more options except for
gophermail methods.
The gophermail methods are discussed in the Accmail FAQ "USENET BY
EMAIL" and in further detail in
