Subject: Request for Assistance
Dear,
The last version of the www4mail gateways (versions 2.2 and above) have
some support for having the user interface and help files in other
languages other than english.
This means that error message and the user interface would be more useful
to more non-english speaking users!
This is a request/call for volunteers who can assist with translating the
www4mail interface into other languages.
The user interface, and help files are all available as separate files
(The size of all files is about 90K).
If you are interested in voluteering then please send a mail directly to
me ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and copy to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Thanks

That error happens quite a bit with that server. Yesterday it took over 13
hours to respond. The the last 64 days it has worked 40 for my statistics
robot.

Yes, you can use that server by e-mail ; and to use it you have to first
get a Password from it (in other words, as you refer to it, "register" with
it) and it can be done by e-mail. To lead you to some relevant postings to
this list in the past, I quote below Gerry's posting in June. :

In the past, nominations have been so sparse that a vote would be
unnecessary. This could be different.

}------------------------------
PKZIPFIX comes with the DOS versions of PKZIP/PKUNZIP. Look for the
PKZ204G.EXE package, or perhaps the PKZ25* package.
One advantage of infozip is that it will work without the central
directory (what pkzipfix rebuilds).
If you are getting no central directory in a downloaded zip, then you do
not have all of the zip.

}I have faced the same problem with files from the Simtelnet FTP
repository
}requested via Downloadslave. Downloadslave does not send files in
parts; so
}there are no pieces to assemble.
}
}A couple of earlier requests for executables from HTTP urls were
received
}correctly, however.
}
}The native content-transfer encoding used by downloadslave for the FTP

Possible
}cause: file transfer error."
}
}The problem has nothing to do with the number of attachments to the
message
}either...
}
}I am yet to try PKZipFix though.
}
AH! Classic truncation: you do not have all of the file! The "central
directory" is at the tail end of a ZIP file. infozip can read, and
extract, any non-truncated files in the part that you did get, but the
last file that you got in that zip (perhaps not the last file that should
be in the zip) will likely also be truncated.

The good news is that if you treat it like text-plain, it will usually be
readable. The only difference is the use of some three character
sequences, starting with an equal sign, should be converted to single
characters.
The quick conversion is:
= at end of line should wrap the next line in place of =
=XX where XX is a valid two digit hexadecimal value should be
replaced with the single character with that hexadecimal value.
Other than the unwrapping of lines, the other cases are rare enough that
the text can usually be understood without conversion.
I can pound out a short converter in basic, C or older Pascal, if REALLY
needed.

Subject: Why Attachments
Unlike other digests that I am subscribed to this one sends each of the daily
messages as a separate attachment to the main message. I have not been able to
find an optioin in Internet Explorer 5 to allow me to automatically view all of
the messages at once so I must go through a laborous process of opening each
messsage one at a time each in a separate window.
Can someone tell me why it is done this way and if there are any other options
available?
Phil

This sounds like a MIME issue to me, though I could be wrong.

Subject: Lists related to Unix ?
Dear AccMail List User.
We have added a SCO Unix Server and a Digital Unix Server to our network. That
is why, we are looking for some Discussion Lists about Unix.
We would be grateful if you could guide us on some Lists related to this topic
(preferably SCO and Digital Unix), or tell us the steps to follow to find them.
We look forward to count on your help and apologize ourselves for bothering you
with regard to this issue.
Kind Regards,
Leandro.
