Try searching on database(s) ie no gap between data and base, try the
plural and singular expressions.

Try different search engines -- yahoo seems to give reasonable results for
a start.

Catch ya later.

Thanks everybody [William Andrews, Ral Larsen and K Sethu] for
the fast response to my Interbot query.

Indeed, as posted, the file to modify to make Interbot's
"AutoLink" feature work properly is http.svr. Works just fine,
now that the dead agora link has been replaced.

Subject: AutoReply setting, how ?

Hi, everybody,

In the past, I heard by chance that there is a way of setting an AutoReply email. This
email aims to reply automatically all mail
sent to our mailbox by its content.

I think that is very necessary for us in case we have to leave house, and cannot check
mail some days.

Now, I am in this situation. So, I wonder if you figure out me how to set this kind of
mail. I do appreciate your help.

Best regards,

Nam Trung

Subject: sci-classification

Hi Mr. Boyd and all ACCMailers!
In the Guide to Offline Internet Access "Accessing The Internet By Email" (by Gerald
E.Boyd) it was mentioned about usenet/news.answers/active-newsgroups/part1 & .../part2
available from [EMAIL PROTECTED] These documents describe in detail only 5
(comp, humanities, misc, news, rec) of 8 (..., sci, soc, talk) broad classifications
the currently active USENET newsgroups are divided into.
I am looking for list of sci-classification.

Can anyone offer some help? Thanks in advance.

Alyosha,

Hi Accmailers!

As I promised here you are another method of getting Usenet news by
gophermail:

mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
#
Name=Usenet News via Wirtschaftsuniversitaet Wien
Type=1
Port=71
Path=0/news/allgroup.edited
Host=news.wu-wien.ac.at

and you will receive all the groups supported by this news server.

All the rest should be kids work.
Put your X-es where you want & have fun :)

This server has a nice option when you get to the usenet postings.
It allows for many different kinds of sorting of the news articles.
Here you are some (I used the comp.mail.misc group as an example)
#
Name=comp.mail.misc (none, or by number, actually)
Type=1
Port=7119
Path=comp.mail.misc[-sn]
Host=cantine.wu-wien.ac.at
#
Name=comp.mail.misc (none, or by number, actually reversed)
Type=1
Port=7119
Path=comp.mail.misc[-snr]
Host=cantine.wu-wien.ac.at
#
Name=comp.mail.misc (by date)
Type=1
Port=7119
Path=comp.mail.misc[-sd]
Host=cantine.wu-wien.ac.at
#
Name=comp.mail.misc (by date reversed)
Type=1
Port=7119
Path=comp.mail.misc[-sdr]
Host=cantine.wu-wien.ac.at
#
Name=comp.mail.misc (by subject)
Type=1
Port=7119
Path=comp.mail.misc[-ss]
Host=cantine.wu-wien.ac.at
#
Name=comp.mail.misc (by subject reversed)
Type=1
Port=7119
Path=comp.mail.misc[-ssr]
Host=cantine.wu-wien.ac.at
#
Name=comp.mail.misc (by author)
Type=1
Port=7119
Path=comp.mail.misc[-sa]
Host=cantine.wu-wien.ac.at
#
Name=comp.mail.misc (by length)
Type=1
Port=7119
Path=comp.mail.misc[-sl]
Host=cantine.wu-wien.ac.at

best regards,

Sorin

From:    Gerald England <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Subject: changes at onelist

Has anyone else experienced a change
in the operation of lists at onelist.

For most of the lists to which I subscribe
I take the digest option but there is one
which I take in reflective mode (ie each message as it comes)

What they seem to have done
is dropped the advert from the bottom of each message
which showed up only as a link
on which you had to actually click in order to access it
and
instead
put in a hyperlink to a banner-ad
at the beginning
and sending this as a multi-part MIME message.

So everytime I move to a list-message
my email program wants to access the internet to
retrieve this banner.
Since I am NOT connected (except when sending and receiving mail)
I get a dialogue box showing up
asking me if I want to connect
and I then I have to say NO
before I can move to view another email message.
The messages themselves show up as text attachments.
Pressing "reply" reveals the message in the usual way
but, of course, it is highly inconvenient.

Has anyone else had this experience?
Is it now happening on all the lists at onelist?

The owner of this particular list has a constant connection
so hasn't noticed the change.

Any further information much appreciated
Gerald
