Subject: Automated page deliveries by email
The site:
http://www.quickbrowse.com/
allows one to register for automated email deliveries of web pages at
specified times, among other things.
An extract from the FAQ:
How do I schedule automated email deliveries?
With scheduled email delivery you can have any web address collection of
pages delivered to your emailbox at times that you specify. Let me say here
that this feature works best with mail readers like Netscape Mail, any of
the Microsoft products (Outlook Express etc) or Eudora. If you use AOL's
built-in email you might run into some difficulties. AOL users might want to
have their deliveries emailed to a web-based mail service like Hotmail.
Now, let's say you want to have the New York Times delivered into your
emailbox every morning at six.
First you need to specify the web addresses of the newspaper sections you
want on your masterpage. For a site like the New York Times, which requires
registration, you will have to include a userid and a password inside the
web addresses (see below how to do that; it's easy).
After entering all the web addresses into the entry field, click on the
"Save them" button to name and create a Web address collection.
Once you have done that the title of your new collection will show up on the
main page underneath where it says "MyQuickbrowse Collections."
Next you click on the "Email Delivery" link beside the title of your new
collection. A new page comes up. The first time (only) you have to click on
"Unlock System." Quickbrowse will immediately send you an email to validate
the email address you entered when signing up with Quickbrowse. Click on the
link inside the email.
In the email delivery menu, choose the time and the time interval for your
delivery. The default setting is 6am daily, which is suited for newspapers.
Select "Delivery On" and then click on "Save Settings"
That's it. The paper will be waiting in your mailbox every morning.

Accmailers,
I have received the final word from Topica, the new owners of Liszt
(http://www.liszt.com) that the email service ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
will no longer be supported. Here is an excerpt from the mail message:
"Liszt email commands are no longer being supported, so you (and your
subscribers) will not be able to use these commands anymore. We are in
the process of updated the Liszt website to reflect this change."
I will need to update the FAQ to show this. Meanwhile, please make sure
you keep this message or somehow remember that [EMAIL PROTECTED]
is now gone for good.

This is an off topic posting. I let it through to remind users that
this list is to be used for Accessing the Internet via Email type
questions. Not where do you find mp3 files or mpegs. The list also
should not be used for Windows or *nix help questions either.
Most of these questions go directly to dev/null. Some I reply to the
original poster, others I let through like this one as a reminder to
the list members.

Without trying to sound demeaning, I would say, take a second
look at your original request to the mail server. It may be
that I am the only one who has ever done it, but I have made
the mistake of pasting one URL several times with the intent
of editing them for minor differences and then forgetting.
I can't blame it on old age, just distraction.
At any rate, you may have to content yourself with sending just
one URL and wait for the resoponse before sending the next.
This will help you debug the problem. Since it may be that you
have exceeded the limits of the server with the original request.

Compressed HTML files or CHTML files are just normal html files that are
compressed into a zip file. One html file in one zip file. When the zip
file goes on the server it should have the extension chtml or cht so
that the browser can identify it by the extension as a html file within
a zip file.
If you received one via email, then use a zip utility to unzip it. Also
if have a broswer on your PC you should be able to view it as long as
you have the proper add-ons.
