There are at least two possibilities I know of: * http://www.internettrash.com/ A free web hosting service with full-fledged upload by email support. Signup procedure is also email automated. Your web URL will be: http://internettrash.com/users/yourname/ There are also alternate domain names: nettrash.com, internetdump.com (adult only), netdump.com (adult only), internetjunk.com, netjunk.com, internetgarbage.com, netgarbage.com, internettoilet.com, nettoilet.com. * http://mail2ftp.hypermart.net/ Allows FTP uploads from any POP3-based email servers to any FTP servers, including those which belongs to free web hosting services such as HyperMart itself, VirtualAve, Geocities, Xoom, Tripod, Freeservers, Homestead, Homepage, BigStep, and all the others. Please note that like all other ACCmail methods, mail2ftp is not secure. Your POP3 username and password will be transfered in open and visible at (for example) www4mail public logs. The only current workaround is by opening a free POP3 account dedicated to your mail2ftp use, and keep changing its password often. Disclaimer: If the unfortunate happened and someone stole your FTP password, some free web hosting will require at least 24 hours to change it. Check this with yours first *before* tried mail2ftp. Neither me, or the author of mail2ftp will be responsible for any damages. I have been looking for a single comprehensive file that includes all the writings of Mr. Gerald Boyd. Now we have: http://www.expita.com/howto1.html (and howto2, howto3), Accessing The Internet By Email Guide to Offline Internet Access V9.1, usenet/news.answers/internet-services/access-via-email, wssearch.zip, EM_AI Manual, and others. Please tell which one is the most comprehensive that includes all the (latest-version) writings of Mr. Gerald Boyd? And what are the RELATIONS between them? I think once we know this clearly and the latest versions, we are likely to work more efficiently. Cheerio! It is in English - I guess it is from Zimbabwe and/or South Africa. Since a month ago I have used it (though as of yet not frequently), but only by online access. To use it to send SMS to someone's SMS enabled GSM mobile phone, first one must register with this site for a free, username / password type log in account for which the username should be a genuine e-mail address (because the confirmation of us setting up is by us returning a confirmation code sent to that e-mail address). Also I guess all such web site should necessarily be "sign up account" types so as to keep out or minimize mail-bomb/spam type victimization of SMS enabled phone owners. While signing up in the site, there is a box to enter registrant's own GSM phone number (with country code preceding and all), but it is not mandatory and can be left as a blank - that is, ownership of a SMS enabled phone is not a prerequisite. Because this site is only a Website-to-SMS gateway. And if a receiver of the SMS (sent via this site) chooses to respond by using the Reply Message feature in his/her phone, then that reply message is *supposed* to come to original sender's Inbox in this site. Well, I say "supposed to" because that feature had not commenced still or was malfunctioning whenever I checked (till about 2 weeks back) if a reply from my phone had reached back my Inbox. But as regards including in servers listing, first requirement should be that this mtnsms.com site or any other such site should be ACCMAIL friendly. Well I have not tried yet - but I think chances are high that ACCMAIL is either impossible or be rather cumbersome - because there is the need of a log-in session to do the SMS sending activity; secondly I see that there is cookie for this site in my cache. So only the cookie supporting ACCMAIL servers might work (ie, some of the www4mail servers). Someone has to try ACCMAIL way and let us know. And what are the RELATIONS >between them? The Accmail FAQ is the primary document. The distribution is world-wide and the information in it is enough to get people started using email to do just about everything Internet related. The Accmail FAQ was started by "Dr." Bob Rankin in late 1994 and turned over to me January 1999. Bob also started the Accmail mailing list and turned this over to me in October 1997. My HTML howtos and server listing pages were developed to further expand the information contained in the FAQ. The pages were based on work that I had done long before I took over as the Accmail FAQ maintainer and Accmail mailing list owner. They will probably continue even after the Accmail FAQ and mailing list are turned over to others. The Accmail FAQ is about 60Kb in size and I try not to exceed this. Because of this, not everything can be shown in the FAQ, BUT it can be described. The web pages try to show in more detail (and with examples) what is described in the FAQ. The Accmail FAQ is for the general public to see and read. Most users will never go any further than this. My web pages are for those users with more than a passing interest in how to use email to access the internet. Also, the Accmail FAQ is only updated about two times per year but my web pages are changed much more frequently. The servers listing seems to change weekly (:>) The ws (web search) series of documents were the very first things I did by email methods and predate my web pages. The Accmail FAQ originally showed 3 or 4 search engines using email. I went further and described the methods used to "crack" (wscrack.faq) any search engine by email methods. I made an introductory document (wsintro.faq) and then started adding search engines that people requested. This work started in early 1996 and was posted to the Accmail mailing list. In July 1996, I made the ws series of faqs official and added them to my ftp site at Netcom. When the www4mail server came out in 1998, I decided that the ws series really had reached it's end-of-life because the forms capability of www4mail made it easy to use a web search engine. However, some users still request me to update and maintain these documents because they like using the simple long URL string rather than using a www4mail form. I have since updated the wscrack.faq and wsintro.faq but none of the others. These two form the basis of the methods I used to develop the long search engine strings and which other users can use to do the same for their favorite search engine. I doubt the other ws series faqs will be updated. In fact, I haven't even moved them all from my Netcom site to my Expita site. The EM_AI manual is not mine so I'll leave the explanation of it to Gary Wines (the developer and owner). -- Gerry Boyd -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Aug 2000 14:33:27 -0700 From: "Gerald E. Now, how do >you get Altavista, Metacrawler, Excite, Hotbot, Metor, and Ask Jeeves to >do the same? Unless the search engine has a particular variable that can be changed to indicate the number of results, the answer is you can't get 100 results back for all search engines. The parameter &num is from the Advanced Google search web page, not the default. AltaVista GUI or text search and advanced search has no variable for number of results but does have a variable on where to start the results (&stq). 10 results are always returned. MetaCrawler has a hidden "results per page" variable (&rpp) that defaults to 20. Change it to see more although I don't know what the maximum is. send http://search.metacrawler.com/crawler?general=spam\ &method=0&redirect=web&rpp=20&hpe=10®ion=0\ &timeout=0&sort=0&format=beta99&theme=classic&refer=mc-search Excite has no variable to change for results returned on the default page although it does after the first 10 results are returned. The default is 10 per page although I don't know what the maximum is. send http://search.excite.com/search.gw?c=web&s=spam&showSummary=true\ &start=0&perPage=10&next=Next+Results I'll leave the rest of the search engines to you to work out. -- Gerry Boyd -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Aug 2000 16:57:20 -0700 From: "Gerald E.
