Hello All:

I haven't been following this thread closely, but I had a similar problem a
year ago.
I wanted to send email in Russian to a penpal but at the time my email was
text-only
and my friend received gibberish at his end.

The solution:

1) I composed the message offline and ZIPed it.
2) Then attached it to a email as a file attachment

This may not be what the person wanted but it worked for me. All the
receiving end
has to do is unzip the attachment and read the message in a suitable word
processor.
