I'm not sure I understand what is being asked here... there was a missing font package on the build machine; we are trying to figure out how to determine this during a build.
We don't have everything running via maven (we're a little weak on maven knowledge); so the src/assemble/build.sh script is covering the gaps right now. The process is still automated and reproducible. Creating the source tarball requires the two commands given in the email. I'm signing and hashing manually, too.
