Luke,
Thanks for responding.
Jaxen is used in the acegifier sample app, though it is currently
using version 1.1-beta-8. Check the project.xml file samples/acegifier
and see what version is listed in the dependencies there.
The problem is that I was doing the "Check Acegi Security from CVS"
which
is a step prior to downloading the examples. After having more sleep
and being able to think about what Maven was trying to do -- i.e.,
initialize
itself and all the standard plugins, I did a grep on the .maven/cache
directory
and found that a number of the shipped plug-ins specify the jaxen FCS
jar.
I manually placed the Jaxen FCS jar into the <home>/.maven/
repository/jaxen/jars, and ran the acegi security check out script
again.
At least maven go to the point where it actually ran the script ...
unsuccessfully,
though (reasons explained below).
Also, the jaxen version you mention appears to be available in the
ibiblio repository
http://www.ibiblio.org/maven/jaxen/jars/
So it ought to be downloadable assuming there are no network problems.
What version of Maven are you using (1.0.2 is the most common)?
Maven 1.1-beta-2. I'm seeing a bunch of DEPRECATED messages
when trying to run the "Building with Maven" command line:
maven scm:checkout-project
-Dmaven.scm.method=cvs
-Dmaven.scm.cvs.module=acegisecurity ...
Now I realize that one should stick to Maven 1.0.2, the most recent
stable release. It would be helpful if the Web page
http://acegisecurity.sourceforge.net/building.html
would say "... install Maven 1.0.2 ..." without the added qualifier
of "or greater" because "or greater" doesn't work, at least for me.
Thanks again for responding.
