It sounds like a sourceforge cvs problem. What do you mean by "not being recognized". An anonymous checkout works for me too.

RC1 does contain the new LDAP provider. You should use these classes in preference to the ones in the sandbox which will not be supported in future releases. There are some discussions in the forums which may prove helpful.
