Sorry... I didn't answer your last question. Someone on this list reported success with the recent 2.6.30 kernel, so the problem may be fixed there.
Incidentally, I turned AHCI back on (ACPI was always on, for me), and the laptop booted just fine. It *did* spend more time thinking about loading the GRUB menu -- quite a bit longer, in fact -- but bearable, since the laptop isn't often shut completely down. I'm still using the stock Jaunty 2.6.28 kernel, so maybe it always worked for me and it was just a fluke that it wouldn't boot the first time after installing. --- SER On Mon, Jun 29, 2009 at 8:21 AM, <[email protected]> wrote: > @SER: Thx, but that does not effect the behavior at all. > > Where is the difference between setting the bios to IDE (instead of AHCI) > and the kernel boot option "libata.noacpi=1"? > > Maybe what I really want is something like "libata.noahci=1"!? > > Anyway: Will this be fixed in future releases or is it an acer bug? > > Greetings, > BKA > > > Zitat von Sean Russell <[email protected]>: > > Please try disabling AHCI in the BIOS instead of ACPI in the kernel boot >> params, and see if that makes any difference. >> >> --- SER >> >> On Jun 29, 2009 6:46 AM, <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> >> Hi @all! >> In the meantime I installed Ubuntu 9.04 64BIT (2.6.28-11) on my 3810T >> (Intel >> Core2 Solo; 4GB) and boot with option: libata.noacpi=1. >> Now I have the following problems: >> >> 1.
