Hi, For those with an ATI graphics card in your Aspire Timeline laptop, I have a testing request if you can spare a few minutes of your time:
Here are the packages for testing kernel mode-setting (KMS) on -ati: https://edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/kms<https://edge.launchpad.net/%7Eubuntu-x-swat/+archive/kms> After adding this PPA, install the packages like this: $ sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-ati To boot into KMS mode, append the following kernel parameter in the boot loader: radeon.modeset=1 Good things to test include compiz, video playback, 3d apps... File bug reports (using 'ubuntu-bug -p xserver-xorg-video-ati') on any regressions you encounter. Cheers, Albert.
