Hi there, I have an Acer 4810tz / intel vga (i915) , BIOS 2.30 (the latest is 2.31) Processor is dual core u4100 , running on 1200Mhz (ondemand cpufreq policy), max 1300Mhz.
Problem: the fan is alway on and I see nothing fan related in /proc - but an empty dir. I do not know if it is normal. I have low cputemp values. Average temperature: 37-45 C, the box usually used for typing scripts. On boot there is a slight noise difference but that may be the hdd spin. Polling frequency is not set, but if I set it to any value it does not change fan activity. I can not echo new values to trip_points for I get input/output error. echo 98:90:86:80:60 > trip_points bash: echo: write error: Input/output error (The same if I put the values between "" use or omit -n) The trip points (see bleow) hint about passive mode, but that is the most.
