I got working (without shouting) the internal microphone on a 5810T with this post (it works with skype) http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=9102538&postcount=779 The main idea is to "unbalance" the mic input: in "balanced mode" it cancels noise ... and voice too. I hope it helps
