Dear Giulio, I have no objections to BSD-3, and agree with Tiago's considerations about the reasons for BSD-3 being preferred (in this case) over BSD-2. I also agree that it is better to use widespread licenses.
So, I think we are all in agreement. Thank you for sending us Ingo's email off-list in which he agrees to a change of license. I agree with Tiago that it would be good to send Ingo an email asking if he would agree with BSD-3, and for the reasons that we have come up with: a) It provides no warranty. b) It is a wide-spread, well-understood license. c) It is a very liberal license. d) It allows University researchers in some parts of the world to more easily contribute, given the presence of the endorsement clause. This is important for something like ACOPOST.
