It detects an ATI board, but I still have double timer interrupts, the PIT is not turned off. Apperently the reason is that setup_APIC_timer() turns off the PIT only for VXTIME_PMTMR. If I boot with notsc, everything is fine. A comment in setup_APIC_timer() says that the local APIC is used as the timer source only for the PM timer and not for the HPET, but doesnt mention the TSC.
