radeonfb_d2_suspend-20051205.patch

not sure if it's working "right" for me (x32, 2884A2U).

Using

booted with video=radeonfb:force_sleep

radeonfb: forcefully enabling D2 sleep mode

radeonfb (0000:01:00.0): ATI Radeon LY
radeonfb (0000:01:00.0): suspending to state: 2...
radeonfb (0000:01:00.0): switching to D2 state...
radeonfb (0000:01:00.0): resuming from state: 2...
radeonfb (0000:01:00.0): switching to D0 state...

With no radeonfb, I would get numbers from 1170mW, 1234mW, 1322mW, 1019mW

With patched radeonfb, I've gotten 987mW 1097mW.

Wake on LAN is off. I also replaced sleep call with a shell script that turns
off the backlight.

It sounds almost like mine isn't affected, but I see some of you have gotten
down to 500mW and the script uses 1W as the threshhold and suggests that 500mW
may be a better threshhold. Anyone else out there have X32 numbers to post? I
will install winxp to compare my numbers....
