[EMAIL PROTECTED] changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[EMAIL PROTECTED] ------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2006-03-01 02:35 ------- There is one real write in all this WMI stuff to EC that probably influences fan activity in some way. I believe that if SilentMode Button is pressed, Windows catches it and makes use of these strange WMI methods. It even seems as if fan is controlled inside WMI, maybe it gets information how to do it from ACPI (these encrypted byte streams?), no idea. A module to access EC with experimental flag as it is done in the acpi_ibm module could help to find a workaround for you... ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language that extends applications into web and mobile media.
