With video=radeonfb:ignore_devlist=1, I can suspend multiple times without a
hang, although gnome-power-manager complains about some problem with suspending.

Before rebooting, I also tried the following (without that boot parameter):
/etc/init.d/gdm stop
suspend & resume several times ("echo mem > /sys/power/state")
/etc/init.d/gdm start
attempt to switch virtual consoles -> system hang

Would it be possible to dump the radeon registers before and after suspending?
Maybe the BIOS will initialize the registers on resume differently from
power-on? I have tried some firmware upgrades in the past, but they did not
affect this problem.
