After resume, I started a script that periodically does "acpi -t". I use the ondemand cpufreq governor, so I started doing some processor-intensive things, cpufreq switched to maximum speed and the temperature went: 50->51->52->58 and stayed at 58 degrees (one degree above the fan trip point), where it's now stuck and the fans are not running. Echoing things into /proc/acpi/fan/*/state to start the fans doesn't work either now, so ACPI doesn't seem to be in a good state at all.
