I installed a vanilla kernel 2.6.20.1, with this configuration: http://keikoz.free.fr/linux-res/config-2.6.20-gentoo As result, i can tell that the problem doesn't depend on the sky2 driver. It just depends on whether the Marvell chip is enabled in the bios or not. If i disable the chip, everything goes fine, the desktop shutdown normally. If the Marvell chip is enabled in the BIOS, the desktop hangs on shutdown (using or not the sky2 driver).
