Most recent kernel where this bug did *NOT* occur: Didnt't know as this feature
( smbus & S3) was disabled for the P35 in < 2.6.20 kernels because of
overheating issues as the smbus gets not reinitialized after doing S3 Resume
(hope i am right).

Hardware Environment: Samsung P35 XVM 1600 III

Problem Description:
Did a S3 Sleep on my Samsung P35 with Kernel 2.6.20. ( Was the 4th or 5th S3 &
Resume Cycle ).
After waking up i'll work and wondered, why my fan was sleeping althought
temperature was rising above 48°C ( normal it become active at 46°C ).
sensors output showed this:
max6657-i2c-0-4c
Adapter: SMBus I801 adapter at 1100
M/B Temp: +44°C (low = -55°C, high = +70°C)
CPU Temp: +46.0°C (low = +1.0°C, high = +70.2°C)
M/B Crit: +110°C (hyst = +100°C)
CPU Crit: +110°C (hyst = +100°C)
The 70.2 is too high!!!
After doing S3 and resume again (hoping that the up/down values gets corrected)
sensors showed this ( correct ) values in fan mode 1:
max6657-i2c-0-4c
Adapter: SMBus I801 adapter at 1100
M/B Temp: +37°C (low = -55°C, high = +70°C)
CPU Temp: +38.0°C (low = +36.1°C, high = +66.2°C)
M/B Crit: +110°C (hyst = +100°C)
CPU Crit: +110°C (hyst = +100°C)
Fan off and first step is:
max6657-i2c-0-4c

M/B Temp: +37°C (low = -55°C, high = +70°C)
CPU Temp: +38.0°C (low = +1.0°C, high = +46°C)
M/B Crit: +110°C (hyst = +100°C)

Steps to reproduce:
Do a S3 and resume - sometimes the up / down values for the fan steps are not
the ones they should be, overheating may be possible, 70 is still now that hight
but think of values greater than 80, dont know where this 70.2 is coming from.
I can't reproduce this with 100% chance of happening - but sometimes the
temperatures are wrong.
dmesg also show some confusing errors about:
Evaluate _CRS failed
pnp: Failed to activate device 00:06.
pnp: Evaluate _CRS failed
pnp: Failed to activate device 00:08.
pnp: Device 00:09 does not support activation.
pnp: Failed to activate device 00:0a.
This happens always after the second resume - at the first one no error, after
the second the above messages are shown and e.g. irda does not work anymore,
maybe this is related to this, i am going to open a new bug for this too as i
dont have any knowledge whats going wrong.
