As the second patch, this third one did not work.

About EEPROM checksum problem, I'm not sure. I guess that a hidden bug in e1000
driver suspend code has just arisen, just when suspend to RAM worked with the
patch.

Now I'm going to test suspend-to-disk using 'echo disk > /sys/power/state' in
the vanilla kernel 2.6.22-rc5-git2.

PS: With older kernels (2.6.19 AFAICR) patched with gentoo patchset plus
suspend2 I got the laptop suspending to disk and resuming in my daily work, and
then I had no problem with e1000.
