I'm going to try your patch, edited to put Tecra M7 in there. I had to update the bios and then do a bunch of DSDT hacking just to get it to suspend in the first place, but after I fixed that problem, started getting the long wait to suspend. It otherwise works. I'll let you know if the patch works.
