Please describe how the failing machine fails,
attach the output from acpidump, dmesg -s64000,
dmidecode, and the contents of /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/*/*
In particular, please note if /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/*/polling_frequency
is non-zero, and any change in behaviour when it is zero.
