Known issue: thinkpad-acpi doesn't deal well with your thinkpad, don't use its brightness support for now. 2. Unknown issue, and the worst one: the ACPI BIOS + Kernel are *not* agreeing on how to work out the brightness events, this has nothing to do with thinkpad-acpi.
