------- Comment #5 from [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2007-10-01 14:41 ------- Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Summary: Wake up not working on ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe Product: ACPI Version: 2.5 KernelVersion: 2.6.22-11-386 Platform: i386 OS/Version: Linux Tree: Mainline Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P1 Component: Power-Sleep-Wake AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Most recent kernel where this bug did not occur: 2.6.20-13-386 Distribution: Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 (development branch) Hardware Environment: ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe motherboard Software Environment: Problem Description: I have the same problem as previously reported on ASUS P5GD1 motherboard. My hardware configuration has not changed, and I used to routinely change the BIOS alarm using /proc/acpi/alarm with Ubuntu Feisty and kernel 2.6.20-13-386. This ability broke upon upgrading to Ubuntu Gutsy with kernel 2.6.22-11-386. A post on the MythTV wiki (link below) claims that the change with Kernel 2.6.22 simply requires using /sys/class/rtc/rtc0/wakealarm instead of /proc/acpi/alarm, but there is no such file on my system. http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/ACPI_Wakeup#Kernel_2.6.22.2B_and_.2Fsys.2Fclass.2Frtc.2Frtc0.2Fwakealarm Writing 'echo "2007-09-09 14:15:00" > /proc/acpi/alarm' works perfectly, reading via 'cat /proc/acpi/alarm' yields the expected '2007-09-09 14:15:00', but the system doesn't start at the specified time. After a manually initiated boot, 'cat /proc/acpi/alarm' yields '2007-09-00 14:15:00', with '00' for the day. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
