does booting (the failing 32-bit kernel)
with "acpi_skip_timer_override" or
"acpi_use_timer_override" have any effect?
does booting with "idle=poll" have any effect?

Please attach (do not paste) the dmesg -s64000 output
from one of these working boots.
Note also that "noapic" should be redundant with "nosmp",
as "nosmp" should disable the IOAPIC also. Do you get
the same results if you leave off "noapic"?
what if you boot with just "nomce"?
