Summary: PC becomes slow after processor ACPI module is loaded
           Product: ACPI
           Version: 2.5
     KernelVersion: 2.6.25-rc2
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Linux
              Tree: Mainline
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P1
         Component: Power-Processor
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Latest working kernel version: unknown
Earliest failing kernel version: 2.6.22 (?)
Distribution: Debian Sarge / Etch
Hardware Environment: 2 x Pentium-II @ 400MHz, Compaq AP400
Software Environment: ---
Problem Description: As long as the processor ACPI module is loaded, the system
becomes very slow, even slower than if only one CPU were running. If the driver
is built in, the system is slow from the moment the module is initialized. See
http://www.uwsg.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0802.0/0729.html

Steps to reproduce: modprobe the module
